DPRK-baiting: space based laser weapons are real, built in Albuquerque

I went to see the James Bond movie for what new gadgets they are playing
with and was shocked to see how popular culture turned reality on its head.

The Bond movie has British imperialists crying tears over conflict diamonds
(what was Rhodes doing in South Africa?)  which the DPKR is using to attack
the earth with a space based laser.  At least the fictional DPRK laser is
solar powered and not like the nuclear powered laser being built here in
Albuquerque at Kirtland Air Force Base for the US Space Command.  The New
York Times magazine last Aug 5 had a major article on the militarization of
space with laser weapons and other anti-satellite weapons, with many of the
research being it being done here in our town, not to mention other towns.
To this end we have been holding demonstrations and going to the laser
weapons hearings.  We made the front page of the local paper a couple months
ago with our large sign, no weapons in space.

On Jan 18, the international day of action, and Feb 3-4 at a large war
symposium here, we are holding a series of demonstrations against these
space weapons.  Amy Goodman will be in Albuquerque that day for another
appearance.  We plan to do a large educational to the public about the real
threat to the planet with space laser weapons being here.  Anyone who wants
to come help is welcome.

Just a note on ground based laser weapons.  I get to follow these a lot
because New Mexico is a research and development site for advanced weapons
like the Predator.  A local paper this week ran an article on a new Humvee
mounted laser weapon the Army has now, to supposedly explode land mines.
Give me a break, the are concerned about unexploded land mines... this is
one of the new generation of weapons they are cranking out, from space
based, to 747 and C-130 based to jeep mounted, to lasers that can knock down
mortars in flight, all to attack the liberation struggles of the world.
Stop and think what they have now, a portable, lightweight Buck Rodgers
laser gun that can reach out probably a hundred miles and silently kill a
human.  It appears to many of us that the task is to stop the war machine, a
machine of domination for the capitalists.  Without their control of space
and the pipeline of exotic new weapons they would have to relate to the
world in a more humane manner.
