Value of life for Americans reduced by USA
Vancouver Sun
Dec.11, 2002
MATH FOR DUMMIES
In further proof that U.S. President George W. Bush is nobody's moron,
the Environmental Protection Agency has dramatically cut the cost of
human life lost to air pollution caused by a variety of small engine
types. At a daunting $77 billion US, some might have seen it as too
steep a price to pay for snowmobiles and forklifts. But the folks at the
EPA have managed to slash the price by 90 per cent. How? Simple -- by
dropping the valuation of an American's life from $6.1 million to $3.7
million.
