Fw: Pakistan election
Farooq Tariq sour grapes toward the 'Class Struggle' (CS) group...please
note he can't bear to say the name of the tendency (only once) having to
refer to it as the "Ted grant" group,...a group that is as big, probably, as
his Labour Party,...cannot go without comment.
I actually agree with much of the criticism that Trariq levels toward the
CS, especially it's rather opportunist relationship with the PPP. However,
it did kick ass, and the votes for Manzoor Ahmed cannot simply be ascribed
to his PPP affiliation, especially given the massive election campaign
around "Socialist Revolution" and completely on the program of the CS, not
the PPP. With election rallies of over thousands, it's clear that the PPP
affiliation played only part of the vote garnering role...the LPP got a mere
few thousand here and there...the CS ran a more activist campaign than the
LPP did, and didn't look back. There other candidates running on the PPP
line also garnered, I believe, more than the LPP did.
