General Publicity for Left (Venezuela) vs. Right (Colombia)
The run-up to the general strike in Colombia ought to provide
interesting contrasts with the capitalist effort that just flopped in
Venezuela
--depsite the enormous investment in propaganda.
Great publicity from the capitalist press in Venezuela as well as the US
and Europe prepared people weeks before the actual date. Then there was
hardly any disturbance on the day of the action.
Now let's see how the reactionary Uribe government responds to the
general strike in Colombia. Note that the demands of the Colombians
are nowhere near as aggressive nor audacious as the right in Venezuela.
