My thanks to Steve and Nick (sorry about getting the name wrong - it is
very early) for their very thoughtful posts.  I actually have a lot of
agreement with them.  But Steve your are totally and absolutely wrong about
the Qld Greens.

It is not a question of me being angry.  Not at all.  The predominant
emotion I get when I see the grey figure of Drew Hutton shambling across
the street to avoid me is of a deep sadness. A prince of the Left and a
real hero to me, ended up being courted by the reactionary National Party.
He even got up at a meeting and accused me of trying to "demonise" the
National Party. He also went on the radio and described the Tories as
putting together a "progressive alliance".  There is much more about the
story and Steve I know it all!  Hutton has issued legal threats against me
and so my ability is circumscribed.  But betrayal it was.  Small in scale
maybe, But a betrayal.  And Steve when I hear you cover it over and try to
defend Hutton's actions my heart sinks again and the spectre of the German
Greens arises. I begin to wonder if it is not the same flies as well as the
same sh-t.
