Re.: Imperialists back Venezuelan lockout/coup attempt

I?d hesitate to call the bosses' action a strike.
The labor bosses in the confederation are also calling for a general
?strike?, and in that sense the word applies: workers downing tools to
stop labor.
But because of the intimacy of the capitalists and the aristocracy of
labor the best word for this action is not a ?strike?. ?An economic
boycott? might be more apt, but it is a simple social disruption to
embarrass and strain the government, hopefully, for the puercoligarcos,
to the point of breaking.

I am wondering if perhaps Venezuelans shouldn?t insist on referenda for
every so-called publicly-held business and every labor union, referenda
on every law or statute that applies to commercial transactions, etc.?
Challenge and pettifog them into petrifaction. But what about the
economy, the real economy, the demand for scarce goods? The goods would
have to be liberated. But then the process of production would have to
be liberated as well. We are headed in that direction.

Every time Chavez is mentioned lately in the US media, he is identified
as a paratrooper who staged a botched coup or government takeover of
some sort that was a failure. The point not emphasized is that the
reason he is President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is that
*he* turned his back on violent ways, and turned to democratic methods
--and was elected by a large majority. His twisted enemies are now the
ones who fly in the face of such liberal niceties as democratic
elections, who plot and botch coups and still attack while clearly in
the minority in every sense except loot. They should be pilloried by
the press. Instead they are given sympathetic ears, pats on the back,
and best wishes.

Now who are these foreign firms that back the economic assault on their
national hosts?
How would such behaviour be appreciated in Washington or on Wall Street?

Any US corporations among them ingrates?
They should be roundly denounced, and suspended from trading on the
Stock Exchange, as well as curtailed from further international dealings
until they pledge allegiance to the principles the United States stands
for!

I am sniggering up my sleeve: could you imagine if that went down? No
mo imperialism?

It will perhaps take a bit more before the real war is declared in
Venezuela.
That is, this is not a strike, nor a labor action, but a struggle in the
class war.
I actually think everyone in Caracas is really trying not to say it out
loud.
That was supposed to be over and done with.
Una fantasma ...
