Well Tony if you had heard Howard "claim" the bomb as evidence of the
correctness of his policies then your anger would have known no bounds.
Such cynicism. I have read Tom's post carefully and I am not sure the
bombing had anything to do with the "war on terrorism". He has forgotten
more about Indonesia than I will ever learn, so he will be able to tell us
if my impression that Bali is Megawati territory, is correct or not.

Having said that I think that many Australians will read the bombing as a
punishment for Australia having pushed itself into the front row of the
cheer squad for George Bush.

My guess however is that the Labor Party will however go to water on all
this and mute their criticism of Howard's policies.

Take care in London, Tony - it's a big big city! When I was there a month
or so ago, I stayed in flat that had a calendar of Brisbane on the kitchen
wall. I was astonished by the wave of homesickness that swept over
me. Christ it's a wonder I did not start asking for vegemite.
