Dear Louis, I sent a correction to my commentary on the 1st.round of
Brazilian elections, saying that rates of abstention were actually
_lower_ in 2002 as compared to 1998, and it didn't show in the archives.
Is there any problem? Also, I remarked that our governor-elect in Rio de
Janeiro, Rosie, was "a Evita without any progressive features". Let it
be clear that by which I did not want to diaparage Evita, only to
explain that "Rosie" stands for the _degenaration_ of the populist
tradition into sheer clientelism and patronizing assistentialism.
