An interesting study of Zionist views on the forced transfer of
Arabs from Palestine can be found in *A Historical Survey of Proposals to
Transfer Arabs from Palestine 1895 - 1947* by
Rabbi Dr. Chaim Simons, which can be found online
at http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/7854/index.html.

Also, of interest is Herzl's book *The Jewish State* which
can be found online, at
http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/6640/zion/judenstaadt.html.

Chapter 3 - "The Jewish Company" should be of interest
in light of Einde's post. Although Herzl makes no
mention of Rhodes (while in fact referring to both
the Panama Canal Company and the Suez Canal
Company) the similarities with Rhode's company
is rather striking. I seem to recall reading somewhere,
that Herzl did correspond with Rhodes, and that he
sought out his support for his own scheme.
