Re: Marx's contribution to sociology
Patrick Ryan wrote: > > Does anyone have any material (online preferably) on

a conscious bourgeois alternative to marxism, I think you'll find that Marxism
had a profound effect on sociology. However because sociology isolates one
aspect, social relationships and development, from society in general and from
economic relationships in particular - this is seen as the province of
economics - sociology is a one-sided and undialectical approach to analysing
society. Marxism adopts a more rounded approach and doesn't isolate particular
aspects from teh totality. However if you want to examine the marxist approach
to social analysis I would suggest a visit to the Marxists' Internet Archive -
http://www.marxists.org/ - and particularly to the Marx/Engels Archive at
http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/
