 Folks,
 I was sent the following threat over email. I understand that it went to
 others in the Greens/Green Party USA as well. Clearly he got our names from
 the Green Party USA website:


 Supporters of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizbullah, al Queda and other Islamist
 terrorists will be hunted down and eliminated. With Regds,Sami Mashney


 As always, the best disinfectant for these sorts of things is sunlight.

 Please help circulate the threat and my call for our communities to
physically
 defend our people against possible assassination attempts and political
 frameups, and to take heightened precautions at all events.

 As someone who is not a supporter of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizbullah, al
Queda
 or other Islamist terrorists, my first impulse was to disregard the threat.
 But those who make such threats do not make such thoughtful distinctions
 between those who oppose US policy and those who support it by engaging in
 murder and assassination, terrorist acts often funded by the CIA.

 I think we need to research who this fellow Sami Mashney is, his
relationship
 if any with Hindustan Times, and be careful not to allow ourselves to be
used
 in some sort of COINTELPRO-type operation. I doubt that Hindustan Times has
 anything to do with it and do not want to foster divisions, which is what
such
 threats aim to do.
