I personally sympathize with the centuries-long struggle of the Irish against
English oppression. I have no information about the political attitude of
Robert Giffen. The implication of his concept of a Giffen good is that it is an
anomaly.
Hobson described imperialism. It does not automatically follow that he approved
of it.
