Re: Alternative media
The formal title of this article is
"The Ancient Art of Haranguing
Has Moved to the Internet"
There is some good information in
this about ways people who are so
hungry for information not given to
them by the dominant corpirate
media are finding new ways to get
it through pamphlets and the net.
Yet there's a nasty edge to this
since they resent competition to
their monopoly control of political
discourse.
(A dictionary definition of the term
"harangue" is: "a long, vehement,
and often pompous speech or
piece of writing, esp. such a
speech delivered in public; tirade."
The use of such terms by the New
York Times is its way of loading any
discussion and prejudicing the reader
against whatever information it deems
"fit to print", in this case, the best-
selling Noam Chomsky pamphet "9-11".
The noted linguist deconstructs the
political arguments which the capitalist
media have used to support the U.S.-
hijacked "war on terrorism" cogently.
This column might have been more
appropriately called "STINK TANK"
due its slimy, malodorous attitude.
