Boul-boulism

It is Boul-boulism."
Hah. That's good!
I remember from my Hebrew that in the early 70s and in Israel "boul-
boul (or bool-bool) meant "a complete idiot", what we in Argentina
call a "boludo / boluda". Boul-boulism is international.
But maybe Chris did not grasp an interesting point here. From the
point of view of semicolonial peoples, Stiglitz's stupid recipes have
an unexpected result: because people begin to wonder why on earth, if
it is so obvious that "the system could work differently", it
doesn't. And they end up by stumbling against the explanation:
"It is imperialism, stoopid".
That is, Stiglitz may be trying to demonstrate that not every
imperialist policy can be against the interests of people. But, again
and again, his boul-boulism transforms his attempts into gasoline
thrown into the fire.
Which is beginning to burn, slowly, in the Southern Cone.
