There has been similar stuff happening in Sydney re the reporting of a gang
of serial rapists.  Much play was made that they were Lebanese youths and
that they selected Anglo women as their victims.  The Labor Premier of New
South Wales played up whole thing for his own racist ends.

Within the right of the New South Wales Labor party, which Carr belongs to,
racism and in particular anti-semitism is deeply embedded.

As for the Aborigine who demanded the right to spear a police officer, I
would give that demand 'critical support' as we used to say in the
Communist League.

Seriously though we have to realise that racism is always a problem here as
it is in the USA.  We really don't need to be doing the work of the radio
jocks and the tabloid journalists.
