INLA Issues Denial
By William Scholes

The Irish Republican Socialist Party has denied the Irish National
Liberation Army was responsible for shooting Mr Blaney.

IRSP spokesman Paul Little said the speculation was a result of "erroneous
press and security reports that the INLA were behind a defensive action in
the Glenbryn estate yesterday".

The IRSP's offices on the Falls Road had to be evacuated at lunchtime
yesterday following a bomb warning.

The offices were visited by police after they received a telephone warning.
No device was found.

Mr Little described the bomb warning as "a blatant attempt to distract
attention from the ongoing loyalist pogrom in North Belfast that has
resulted in many injuries and the murder of Gerard Lawlor".

He continued: "Following one loyalist murder and several attempted murders
in nationalist areas the situation is reaching breaking point.

"While young men lie dead and dying on our streets both governments stand
exposed as the conductors of a political process with no relevance or impact
on the ground.

"The IRSP are concerned the ongoing loyalist sectarian murder campaign is
being ignored by the politicians in their rush to either implement or wreck
the Stormont assembly.

"The political process is not a peace process in any way, shape or form."
