First of all: this entire discussion came about when people started offering
prescriptions on how the left should be organising themselves. Don't kid
yourself that any of your critiques of "Zinovievism" and so on has any
meaning or context other than organisations of a few hundred people or less.
These are the only organisations that exist.
More importantly: there can't be any "organizational expression of a *mass
movement*" when *no such* mass movement exists. The "distinct currents"
exist as such precisely because of this lack. Having said that, distinct
currents will also exist within an "organizational expression of a *mass
movement*", precisely because such organizational expressions are
heterogeneous, that is, factionalised. Of course there is no good reason to
believe that the "distinct currents" of such a party and the "distinct
currents" of the present situation bear any particular relationship to each
other.
In any case, what Tom and the DSP'ers are looking for are answers to the
real question: what is to be done next?
