ZNet Marxism debate
For those with an interest in this sort of thing, Michael Albert of Z Magazine
is engaged in an ongoing debate with Alan Maas of the International Socialist
Organization (ISO) over Marxism.
Albert trots out all of his favorite strawmen, including this howler:
"My critique here and in my opening essay is of the Marxist base/superstructure
idea that defining influences flow only from economy to polity, culture, and
kinship but not vice versa."
Ouch! Somebody hasn't read their Althusser!
Anyway, here's the link: http://www.zmag.org/debateiso.htm
