Re: Self-determination of Quebecois
Why not?
Problem: First Nations in Quebec.
Right, I understand that there is a conflicting problem there.
But my question was more directed at Nestor's comment:
"I am a Marxist, and I am strongly against the self-determination of
the British, Dutch, French, German, American (USA), New Zelandian,
Australian, Japanese, Belgian, Swedish, Norwegian, Italian, Spanish,
Portuguese, Austrian (and a few other) nations.
Their self-determination means imperialism and exploitation for the
rest of the planet."
I was wondering to what extent, he (and others) would support the
self-determination of the Quebecois considering that they are waging a
self-determination struggle as an oppressed people in the context of the
Canadian state, while in the world scene they are NOT on the side of
oppressed nations; they are an imperialist nation that is being oppressed
and occupied by another imperialist nation (?).
Long standing debate, not really a new thought, just curious what people
have to say.
