Jay: I read the article. Yes the situation here is extremely scary. There
are rumors galore but also facts which can not be denied. One is that middle
class communities are armed to the teeth. The other is that the middle
class, partly fomented by the media, has developed an irrational hatred for
Chavez, which may be comparable to the Communist hate scare in the U.S.
under McCarthy and even after. Most people in the middle class can't mention
the word Chavez without foaming at the mouth. I have never seen anything
like it. Steve
