Results of Classroom exercise

I gave my students an extra-credit exercise that involved putting themselves
in the place of a journalist, in any culture and any time in history,
speaking to someone with power of life and death and/or the power to
terminate careers, and, imagining that they have a terminal illness and they
want to repent for a lifetime of whoring, toadying and Faustian deals (to
get access to get the "big scoop" to get exposure, to get name recognition
and big bucks and ratings to get continuing access to even bigger
"scoops...) pose questions that no journalist wanting to stay alive or stay
a journalist at the higher levels of the "mainstream" would dare ask.

Some sample responses:

"Mr. Bush, do you agree that it is ok for Medicare to pay for Viagra for
men, while debating to pay for birth control for women?"

"Mr Bush, your wife Laura hit a pedestrian when she was 21, and killed the
person; why didn't she spend any jail time?"

Mr. Clinton, I see that you made a prison release of a Mr. Reynolds during
your last minute forgiveness spree. Reynolds was serving time for sleeping
with an underage campaign volunteer and after his release was added to Jesse
Jackson's paytoll. Now is this the first time in history that an
ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate won clemency from a president
who had sex with a subordinate, then was hired by a clergyman who had sex
with a subordinate?

Mr. Bush, how do you plan to improve the benefits and lifestyle of the
numerous Indian tribes in our country who receive less welfare benefits than
the illegal aliens we financially support through social security and
welfare programs?

in SE Asia] Note the assignment:
Herr Hitler, if Jews are the cause of the fall of the German Republic, how
are you able to save us if your father himself was a Jew? [this person knows
of course that Hitler's father was not Jewish but the assignment call for
questions that would get you killed and/or get your career terminated).
and...Herr hitler, you are opposed to gays and have had them sent to
concentration camps. Why is it that you do not confine Ernst Rohm, your
second in command, to a concentration camp because he too, is a homosexual?

Mr. Bush, did you ignore wanings about potential terrorism before 9-11 in
order to set up a "Reichstag-fire"-like situation that you could use to
justify destroying any Constitutional protections and lay the foundations of
fascism as the nazis did before and after the Reichstag fire?

Mr. Bush, you have defined terrorism as the deliberate targeting of innocent
civilians and/or actions highly likely ot involve extensive civilian
casualties. Under this definition, are the embargos against Iraq, that have
cost over one million dead children who have nothing to do with Saddam
Hussein not State-sponsored terrorism according to your own definition of
terrorism?

Mr. Bush, you have stipulated, but refused to discuss, the memberships of
your grandfathers, father, brothers and yourself in Skull and Bones.
According to documents leaked out of Skull and Bones the initiation rites
involve laying naked in a coffin, with a ribbon tied around your penis while
masturbating and recounting your previous sexual experiences to 14 other
initates and members of Skull and bones. Did you indeed go through this
ritual? What kind of sick and twisted society would have such rituals? What
kind of "family-values-super-Christian" kind of guy would belong to such a
society?

Mr. Bush, how did you feel telling American citizens that you were going to
restore dignity to the people's house standing in front on an Enron jet made
available by Kenny-boy Lay (whom you denied knowing well and about whom you
lied when you said that he had supported your opponent Ann Richards in the
Texas governor's race) that had been flying you all over the country?

Mr. Bush, if your daddy had not been president before, if you had not been
given access to prestigious schools that you could not have gotten into
without family connections, if your daddy had not put the fix in to get you
into the Texas Air National Guard whikle others were being sent to die in
the Vietnam War you actively supported while refusing to serve on active
duty in Vietnam, if your cocaine conviction in 1972 had not been fixed by a
judge friendly to your daddy, if your family had not acquired vast wealth
built partly on your grand daddies Prescott Bush and George Herbert Walker
financing Hitler from 1924 on and even selling nazi bonds after Pearl
Harbor, if 5 of the Supremes had not violated canons of Judicial Ethics
refusing to recuse themselves when they had a wife and children working
directly to one of the parties involved in a case before them, do you think
there is any chance you would be occupying--illegally--the presidency?

Mr. Bush, Have you ever used political influence and family connections to
get out of a situation that you shouldn't have gotten yourself into?

Mr Jefferson, How many children do you and your slave Sally Hemmings have
and do you plan to "free" Sally Hemmings and your children from slavery? How
can you justify the enslavement of the woman you obviously love and your own
children?

Mr. Kennedy [JFK] Mr. President, exactly how many mistresses do you
currently have, how many women have you nailed in the White House [the
"People's house] and what was the Secret Service doing while you were
screwing various women while on the job in the White House and elsewhere?

Mr. Kennedy [JFK] Mr. President, it is well known but never discussed by the
press that you have a well-endowed libido and that you are sharing the same
mistress [Judith Exner] with the mob leader Sam Giancanna while your brother
bobby, the Attorney General is supposedly investigating the mob; do you see
any conflict of interest there?

Mrs. Clinton: How can you justify helping to promote a man who is such a
flagrant sexual predator of the women he works with? Does this jibe with
your asserted feminist ideals? What would you say to Chelsea if she were the
victim of unwanted advances? What if the man in question were a proponent of
your political agenda? Where do you draw the line????

Mr Bush: There seems to be evidence that you went to court to testify
against your DUI that was issued on October 2000, when you were driving
under the influence of alcohol. At a press conference on November 3, 2000,
you said that you never went to court and just paid your fine. Is this a lie
or a misunderstanding? And if that is what you really said, how can we tell
if you're telling the truth or not in the future?

Mr. Bush: Do you fell that your family tree is littered with branches
associated with fraud, manipulation, treason, genocide and murder because of
the dirty money linked with support of nazis, including during times in
which this country was at war with the nazis?

Mr. Bush: Your secret society, the Skull and Bones now allow women. Do you
have plans for your daughters to enter that society? Are any of your
daughters currently a member? Do they have special initiation rites for
women that do not involve laying naked in a coffin while masturbating and
screaming out their sexual histories in order to provide material for
blackmail against any Skull and Bones member that dares to break with "The
Order" in the future?

Mr. [J. Edgar] Hoover: Mr. Hoover, your attacks against homosexuals are well
known, you are on record as saying that homosexuality and government service
are incompatible, yet there are reports that Clyde Tolson, who lives near
you, who accompanies you on all vacations including to racetracks where you
have been seen in the company of Carlos Marcello head of the mafia in New
Orleans, and who was promoted to Deputy director of the FBI after having
been less than three years with the FBI, and you are lovers. It has been
further rumored that you have a fondness for blod wigs, red dresses and
being called "Mary". Do you plan to resign soon under your own doctrine that
homosexuality and government service are incompatible?
