It is probably closer to 4- 1.  At the beginning of this Intifada  Israeli
snipers were taking out 10 Palestinians for every Israeli.  That moved the
conflict into a different mode of course and instead of stone throwing
teenagers we have bomb carrying young men and women and attacks on settlements.

Currently the Israelis are using raids or excursions to keep the death
ratio as high as possible. Hamas (& Arafat) are calculating that the
Israelis cannot absorb the current ration and at some time the support for
Sharon will collapse.

In the mean time the horror continues.
