Hunter, as you say, not much betwen us on socialist society.  However, as
capital
causes most of today's stunted and travestied human relationships, I would
hope that future
socialist (leading to communist) society would more than just consciously
bin all that we live within but
would leave it all behind in great leaps and bounds.

PS:  and, yes, choice.   For myself, choice often manifests itself in *not*
joining clubs.  I'm of the opinion that socialist society will not be
utopian but.....whether it will require any form of club.....IMO, quite the
reverse.
