From PEN-L (on NACLA's drift)
As regards today´s NACLA I can ad that I could testify such change,
which took place in the late eighties. At the time I was a PhD
student at the New School and used to visit David Brooks (current
correspondent to La Jornada, a Mexican newspaper) on NACLA´S
premises. As a result of the change my friend David and other
leftists were expelled because their idea was to keep NACLA's
approach and independence. Ever since, to the best of my knowledge,
NACLA no longer staffs researchers but buys reports and papers. For
us Latinamericans it was also a big loss..
