Whose analysis could they base their articles on, if not their own?  If
fact, their analysis often is the analysis of "the party's political
committee" by default, as there is not other analysis.

No.  It certainly didn't work for the Communist Parties in the US, the UK
and Australia.  Speaking of CPs, how does your analysis apply to the PCF and
the (now-defunct) PCI?
