A couple of weeks ago I suggested that the DSP had slipped into replacing
the schema of Permanent Revolution with another schema, rather than simply
breaking with schematic politics as such. (That came later, to the extent
that it has happened.) One of the quotes I sent suggested that this was
correct. The DSP "official history" dates from 1990. There is a definite
implication that the "Leninist" two-stage theory is a universal schema in
there.

The claim that it isn't dates from the relatively recent debate between DSP
leader Doug Lorimer and Phil Hearse, formally from the USec (Fourth
International). The documents from this debate are on the DSP website.

The more recent version of the theory - the "not a universal schema"
version - is closer to being correct.
