Muhamed Gessan's note reminded me to identify the source of this rather
interesting report on machinations in the antiwar movement. It appeared in
Frontlines, a website (http://www.sf-frontlines.com/) that is run by some
of Anthony's friends from the Moreno tendency in the USA, who now like most
sensible people avoid "vanguardist" posturing.

Which is not to say that they are perfect. The other week Anthony
crossposted one of the articles on the Argentine protests that threatened
to turn Nestor into a Latin version of Joe Freemen. Fortunately, cooler
heads prevailed.

My only problem with the article is that it closes on a rather wistful and
utopian note:

"What we need is one, united, democratically-run antiwar movement to
confront Bush both at home and abroad. A movement that will reach out to a
broad spectrum of organizations and communities, particularly communities
of color and immigrants. A coalition that will raise the issue at
workplaces and union halls. A coalition in which every organization can
put forward their proposals at meetings free of undemocratic rules. A
coalition that will speak on the issues to workers, youth and people of
color NOT yet involved, rather than those already convinced."

As James P. Cannon once said, the art of politics is knowing what to do
next. Unfortunately, the Frontlines article gives no such indication.
