Re: Problems of Everyday Life...
----- Original Message -----
From: "Erin Kaiser" <erin@xxxxxxxxxx>
Hey Erin! I didn't know that you were on Lou's list. I wrote a post about you on
another list awhile ago, when somebody (Leo Casey) claimed the right to say
whatever they wanted about the war because he was from New York, and thus had
the right to demand imperialist wars on the Afghan population. Here it is, and
if I had known you were flying about cyberspace I wouldn't have bit my tongue on
your name.
Cheers from BC.

A young woman in Vancouver moved to New York some months ago, and was even fixed
up by a mutual friend to go and meet Mr. Louis Proyect for a beer when she got
there. She was less than two blocks away from the site of the planes going into
the towers; all the windows on her building were blown out in one fell swoop.
All the people in her building were evacuated. At that point, she went down to
the street and did what a good socialist- and I would add communist- does: She
worked like Hell picking through the rubble to find survivors. Just in time for
the first major rally here in Vancouver, she arrived "home" and gave a speech
opposing the war. She spoke of seeing many people die. She spoke of the human
cost, and how the struggle for many New Yorkers was and is to find and document
the huge number of dead, undocumented immigrant workers, so often hired by the
types who worked in and ran the WTC. These are the issues she spoke of, voice
defiant and strong, yet shaken. She seemd like a different person after all
that. She mentioned the coalition she belonged to "New York- Not in Our Name"
coalition. She was, as is obvious, powerful to listen to and someone we in
Vancouver are proud of for her work since 9-11.
She had moved to New York to work for the Democratic Socialists of America.
Leo Casey doesn't have the moral standing of this womans' shoes.
Let that be the last time I even think of that little piece of garbage who
embarrasses the NY Teachers he supposedly supports. To Hell with his left-wing
imperialism. To Hell with him. He should invite John Sweeney over to his place
for dinner; they can munch on workers rights for the appetizer and then on
Afghani children for the main course. Looks like Iraq will be dessert- how will
Mr Casey respond to this? I can almost contain myself.

The only person who replied to the message declared for one and all that it was
you... his reply was "Macdonald is speaking of Erin Kaiser. She kicks butt and
is why I keep my political affiliation with the DSA".
revolutionary regards,
(And Hi everybody)
Macdonald
