Malvinas Re: Question for Phil

Lenin would have clipped all extraneous text before replying to a message, so
should you.

Well, Nestor has repeated this statement several times and has not retracted
it so I don't buy the "heat of the moment" excuse. I think that this
statement, along with his statement regarding putting aside revolutionary
demands during the conflict (ie "national unity" over revolution) or, put in
other words, class collaboration, is at the crux of the question. Lenin
conceded the right of self-determination but he always rejected subsuming
revolutionary demands for the sake of nationalism. So no, I don't think this
is a side issue or a "heat of the moment" question. It's a question of class
collaboration, an act no more acceptable in a semi-colonial state than in
an independent or imperialist state.

Well, I have to do more reading on the question of the borderline (so to
say) between semi-colonialism and "independent" states. I'll answer in more
detail when I have a chance.
