I fear that I may have accidentally slandered the horrible Jack Lang in an
earlier post, by claiming that he was involved in imperialist exploitation
in Fiji. He may have been, but the incident that I was thinking of involved
one of his rivals and bitter enemies, "Red Ted" Theodore from Queensland.
"Red-baiting Ted" would be a more accurate description of Theodore, whose
business partners in the Emperor gold mine in Fiji included Frank Packer,
the father of Kerry Packer, who is the present day richest canetoad in
Australia.
Lang was maggot enough to be condemned for his own sins. He doesn't need
other people's attributed to him. Sorry.
