Re: Proyect v Woods
I read Ellen Woods book with interest. she does state her argument very
clearly. I would not call it a great theoretical work. its goals seem to me
to have been polemical. actually when I read it I was not much interested in
the Brenner thesis. I was more interested in her attempt to separate
modernity and the enlightenment from the origins of capitalism. this seems
to me not to be a very interesting project. it does provide the grounds for
the Monthly Review's rejection of anything cultural.
