Interesting. Obvious paralellisms with the general march of capitalism should
be given a minute's thought. Armies, in the end, tend to reproduce the main
trends of development of the societies that build them.

But, there is a problem with all this: you still need infantry to occupy land.
Unless you occupy minds. That's why TV networks have become so essential. If
you win the news war then you win a good half of the war: that of remaining in
the place your high-tech troops have just invaded. Under these circumstances,
the fact that many "Leftists" fail to see the reactionary character of
imperialist interventions, wherever and whenever they occur, is a very serious
issue.

It is not my own idea to go out there putting labels to people. But, from an
objective point of view, they share in the job of the intellectual infantry.
