radical radio nyc
important political questions are posed by the Pacifica board take over of
wbai. there is a certain opportunism operating for those who continue to
broadcast. perhaps it is just pragmatism? resigning is a political act. my
question is what is likely to be the outcome of these actions? if wbai
becomes fiscally unable to pay its bills, the national board will use this
as an occasion to take it over totally. of course, there will be resistance
to any such move. at the same time, something has to be done to stop the
corporate take over. this relationship poses new questions of strategy and
action. what we have here is a new form of class struggle.
