Labor historian Philip S. Foner shared that assessment. See his comments
on Cochran in "Anti-Communism in U.S. Labor History" (published in *The
United States Educational System: Marxist Approaches*, Marxist
Educational Press, Minneapolis, 1980, pp. 205-209).
