on organization
the discussion of organization in some of the recent posts on this list
offers some interesting questions. to begin with, it is not clear to me how
we are judging success and failure. was the Third International really a
success? by what criteria? if attaining socialist society is the criteria,
then most organizations fail. even the SWP did some good work during the
Vietnam War. are we to write this off ? the Worker's World Party does some
good work today. now this does not mean that they will lead our revolution.
I hope not. but this does not mean that what they do in the present context
is not of value.
