It is one thing to attack the NYTimes, another entirely to hold up the NDP as an
antidote to them. In BC there is a constant "good cop" attitude of the province
authority ("pro socialist?" They have presided over the growth of the homeless
population in Vancouver from so few that a homeless person could eke out 20-30
dollars a day about 8 years ago. Now the homeless are chased around by
"Ambassadors"
and are lucky it's warmer here than in Ontario, where their counterparts are
freezing
to death for the same lack of housing).

The "Treaty process" is overseen by some councils that are selling away any
further
claims and some of the sovereign rights they have now (such as not paying taxes
to
Ottawa). The NDP is to the Natives the equivalent of the cop who tells you that
he'll
make all the problems go away if you'd only sign here, and he'll keep that big
burly
SOB in the other room away from you for the rest of the interrogation.

And you are being interrogated for having the gall to survive.
