Very interesting discussion this one.  I recall clearly the confusion here
in Australia among the Left about the war.  A group of academic friends of
mine even  marched  through Brisbane  with a banner which said "Brits out,
Argies Out!"

The totally wrong line of course.

I am proud to say though that in the working class Catholic ghettoes of
Belfast the slogan painted on the walls was "Viva Argentina".

The working class knew, even if the academic leftists did not, that a
victory for Argentina would have been a victory for the Irish.
