What he had though was a grasp of principle. One should, for example, be
able to accept Nestor's argument on the Falklands even without the
background information Nestor provides us. Trotsky probably had more
pressing demands on his time and energy than getting the detailed facts
on Irish history accurate. As you point out in this post, some people,
allegedly anti-imperialist, who lived in Ireland could not get to the
right conclusion.
One person can know only so much. And when we are a mass movement, there
are going to be hundreds of thousands, millions, of us who won't be able
to read in a lifetime what most of the subscribers to this list read in
a month or two. Think about it.
