Yeah, I'm weird like that. I figure that having a
solid handle on the way the world works is a pretty
important thing to have in order to change it.

True, I don't really have the time at the moment. And
yes, I know that seems like a cop-out, but frankly I
have better things to spend my time on than an
in-depth analysis of a rather insignificant individual
(Webb).

So I put a one-liner comment at a rather amusing
mistake Webb made.

What contradictions? You name none.

As for "misreading," there was no "misreading" here.
Web said that "we" were attacked "on our own soil" by
"fanatical terrorists" for "the first time since
1812."

Now, explain to me where I'm misreading this.

A) This is not the first time the US has been attacked
on "our" own soil since 1812.
B) This is not the first time the US has been attacked
by "fanatical terrorists" since 1812.
C) This is not the first time the US has been attacked
on its own soil by fanatical terrorists since 1812.

That pretty much covers any grammatical issues, and
the statement is still *wrong*. That's not counting
the "our," which IMO shows that Webb and co. aren't
even nominally Marxists anymore. But, much as you like
to harp on it, the original comment I made was in
parentheses, showing it to be a side comment, not the
main gist of what I was saying.
