Black bloc sympathizer "stumped"

this is a topic i've not really seen discussed much, and i think one of the
peters brought it up a few months back, and neil's response to scott
certainly has me thinking about it again... and given the
"anti-globalization" movement of the last few years, and now that it looks
like we're on the brink of a war, it seems to me we should be seriously
discussing what to do.

i, for one, am stumped in many ways. how do i respond to what is happening?

an obvious response is to do the theoretical work connecting everything
together, and use that as a springboard to intervene in, with the hope of
helping to draw together, the currently dispersed (at least in the u.s.)
anti-globalization movement... hoping to play a part in fighting against
this war, while not loosing the big picture.

but how to go about this?

in the current political climate in the u.s. confrontational actions would
seem to only be detrimental (and perhaps a strong case can now be made, on
the basis of the last few weeks, that they were perhaps, tactically
speaking, premature).

where i live, a lot of people seem to be agreeing that 3 things are vitally
important: 1) the already mentioned theoretical work, and the agit-prop
which must come of that if it is meaningful at all; 2) neighborhood and
workplace organizing in much the same way as before (autonomous community
centers, workplace action groups, neighborhood assemblies, shopfloor
assemblies, etc.), to not loose ground; and 3) street protest.

so, from my perspective, not much as changed. but within these three things
there are, as always, many complextities, which are now further hampered by
the decomposition from this terrorist idiocy. how do we seriously go about
these three things in the current political climate? esp. facing, as i think
we are, increased survalliance and harassment. ???

i guess what i'm getting at is this: what are people's thoughts on how we
get ourselves re-railed?

how do we go about acting?

etc. etc.
