Goodbye and Thanks for All the Fish (Was RE: Anarchists and Leninists)
Well, I see no point in continuing my membership onlist. I have not
developed the fine art of critiquing ideas without saying something
negative: it takes a university education to be able to do that (You can't
expect a boy to be depraved til he's been to a good school. -Saki); and I
don't have one. I am unable to excercise the judgement required to temper
my forthright manner, blunt speach, and - why not acknowledge it? -
bitterness.
Since my manner offends the precious feelings of some of the delicate
flowers on the list, I will retire; especially since my "attacks" are
persistently seen as attempts to "abandon the youth to the enemy". I
understand these disaffected youth better than some imagine and I do not
need any lectures on their disaffection. I have worked alongside them in
numerous worksites and share their sentiment. I have been "without a future"
all my life, having been born into the lower income level of that social
layer formerly known as petty bourgeois (when did that term get expunged
from the official Marxist lexicon?) I keep telling you - over and over again
- that I am not saying don't talk to them; but, some of you persist in being
reading impaired on this point. I speak plain English; so, I don't
understand the problem. I see no possible way for discssion to proceed
when any "negativity" is automatically seen as sectarian attack.
My understanding of the common roots of anarchism and social fascism are
instinctive, due to my family background; but, those of you who need a
formal lecture on the topic are invited to check the archives for "Anarchism
and Fascism: Partners in Crime", Mon., Aug. 07, 2000. It even cites the
Sacred Text.
I cannot understand how a discussion of this matter can possibly proceed
without referrence to the typcal consciousness of those social layers
formerly known as petty bourgeois and lumpenproletariat (when did those
terms become expunged from the official Marxist lexicon?) But it appears
certain prima donnas will be offended if we discuss such matters
forthrightly. Since any discussion of either anarchism or social fascism
without referrence to basic elements of their ideology will be as about as
enlightening as watching paint dry, I can think of more productive uses of
my time.
I had hoped to find some discussion on marxmail about the current alignment
of forces at work in North America. Surely, this is an important discussion
if we are about to go into as deep a recession as we think it might. It
seems the left in general would rather chase the fairy dust of _Empire_ than
face the fact that they have ceded important ground to social fascism. How
is it possible that ideas that have been obsolete since the collapse of the
11C. Total Society project of the Western Church have found revival in the
minds of so many in North America? Those who don't understand what I'm
talking about may wish to do a web search on "Christian Reconstructionism"
and check out the archives at pfaw.org (People for the American Way) - for
their monitoring of the assualt on the wall of separation of church and
state in the U.S. - and, as well, review the media watch section at
csicop.org (Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the
Paranormal). But several threads that may have given rise to such discussion
have gone over like a lead balloon. No one wants to discuss the elephant in
the living room.
Probably what I should be doing is going over to Bob Jones University and
memorizing their faith statement - we'll all be needing it in the coming
years - and buying one of those cute little What Would Jesus Do bracelets.
You may wish to dismiss my ideas as alarmist. I don't really care. I have no
reputation to defend anywhere on this planet, I'm not trolling for
followers; and, in general, I just don't give a fuck what people say about
me.
Just unsub me and go back to your endless gossip about obscure Trotskyist
sects that have no influence anywhere but in your own mind.
