Yes, but they say that every time the economy takes a
dip. The fact that capitalism as an economic system is
inherently unstable is not something I'm questioning.

I think that's fairly self-serving, really. The US'
history of persecution of communists is beans compared
to, say, *Germany's*, but the KPD is still quite a bit
larger than the CPUSA, SWP, RCP, WWP, and the rest
combined.

I didn't say the US economy. I said the US. The US
economy collapsed in the late 1920s - the US did not.

The problem becomes, who defines who the people's
enemies are, and how? Is anyone who questions a
policy, such as opening up to foreign investment, an
"enemy of the people?" It's questions like that that
make the regulation of free expression, even in
"progressive" societies, an inherently bad idea.
