Dear Eskandarpour,

Louis' point regarding Stalin-Trotsky is that if this
list allowed that discussion to go forward, it would
be occupied with little else. That thread would simply
go on forever, eventually resulting in nothing but
insults and unsubscriptions (voluntary or
involuntary).

It is not having a Trotskyist/Stalinist position that
Louis opposes, but the rehashing of Trotskyism versus
Stalinism. In other words, environmentalism is ok to
discuss, but "socialism in one country" and "permanent
revolution" are best avoided.

Incidentally, Louis has been called a "Trotskyist" by
Stalinists and a "Stalinist" by Trotskyists. Were I
him, I'd wear that with pride.
