The reason for the need of a political party is that political action cannot be
individualized. Communism is not a process. It is an end state. Its
realization requires organized effort of massive numbers of individuals. The
potential power of the poor is in its number. Individualism dilute this
potential. Capitalism promote individualism to de-claw the masses.
Civil liberties, within the limits of socialist society, come only after the
revolution has succeeded, which has yet to occur in history. The State, when it
is under the control of a communist party can be a vehicle for progress. The
state under capitalism is a vehicle for reaction. The state itself is not a
political entity.
