I agree. The phrase sums up tons of bullshit that passes for "progressivism".

And I cellebrate Xxxx's comments that follow, on the article in ISQ and on
Zizek. My only caveat is that, sadly enough (because it betrays my age) this
that is currently astonishing Xxxx is a very very very old red herring in Latin
America, where the Left (and particularly the "academic" Left) has more often
than not been playing on the team of the oppressors against the oppressed.

In Spanish we spoke of the "marxistas de cátedra" to refer to those early
offshots of Marxism that flourished under Tsarist protection in the Russian
universities against populists. Carlos Rebello has translated this conception
to this kind of Latin American "Marxists". This has been one of his most
noteworthy propositions, IMHO.
