A better yardstick may be the notorious football rivalry between OSU
& Michigan. After the last game (which OSU lost), firefighters had
to contain more than 60 fires. Drunken students burned old
furniture, set fire to dumpsters, overturned cars, threw stones &
bottles at cops, resisted arrests, etc., and the police in turn Maced
& arrested many randomly (see the photo of students trying to
overturn a car at
<http://www.thelantern.com/archives/gendisp.asp?id=974727201671>).
One student was knifed when he attempted to end a party (see
<http://www.thelantern.com/archives/gendisp.asp?id=974727335765>).
Something like this happens every season.

The American masses appear to be nowhere as excited about the
prospect of an "illegitimate" president as they are about football.
I don't see any comparable commotion in the streets now.
