You are absolutely right, I know very little about the Irish Republican
movement.
But the fact that the Irish Republicans did not recognize the class
character of the Soviet state is not at all a recommendation of their
political acuity. The changed relationship of forces on a world scale cannot
but have affected them, unless you believe the world relationship of class
forces is a function of the ideas inside the heads of the republican leaders
rather than external to them.
