I think Louis is missing the point, the anti-GM campaign is not
reactionary because Prince Charles is associated with it, on the contrary,
the involvement of aristocratic farmers (Lord Melchett, the head of
Friends of the Earth, is another example) is symptomatic of the
campaign's reactionary aims, a return to subsistence, 'organic' farming.

The Irish revolutionaries of 1916 may indeed have been petty-bourgeois but
they were fighting (in part) for the liberation of Irish peasants from
subsistence agriculture.
