Re: Some Retorts to U.S. Election Arrogance
I went to a meeting in New York Thursday night which featured Maude
LeBlanc, editorial director of Haiti-Progres, and Pam Africa of Internation
Friends and Family of Mumia Abu-Jamal.
I got a chance to chat with LeBlanc before the meeting. She has just
returned from Haiti, where a presidentila campaing that should see Jean-
Bertran Aristide being re-elected is taking place.
She said that the quip going around Port-au-Prince was: "Haiti has
plenty of election workers, trained by USAID, the CIA, the State
Department with lots of experience of running elections under adverse
conditions. Haiti certainly would be glad to supply some to dDada
County.
The United States has conducted a virulent campaign in Haiti (and
throughout the world) telling Haiti how to conduct its elections and
complaining vociferously if Haiti didn't follow the US dictats.
