Re: Cuban Women: 1959-1989-2000

One piece of evidence on the Cuban gov.'s attitude towards sex tourism
today is
discussed in the "Sex and Revolution" book I alluded to in a previous post.
In 1989, pre-Berlin Wall Fall, "Playboy" magazine ran a spread on "The
Girls of Cuba". In typical PB fashion it showed mulattas(that's the word,
Lou, not mulattos as you wrote)romping around the beach nude and semi-nude.
The magazine was not sold in Cuba, except at government-run hotels. The
whole point of allowing PB into Cuba was to give foreigners a glimpse of
these tropical beauties (a la Godfather II). That's also the purpose of the
Tropicana nightclub mulattas show(yes, that's what its called), in 1959 and
in 2000.
